Frequently Asked Questions — Newcastle Foot Clinic and Orthotics
Do you offer direct billing to insurance?
Many chiropody and custom orthotic services are covered by extended health insurance plans. Please contact our clinic at 905-987-3644 or email info@newcastlefoot.com to confirm direct billing availability and to check your specific coverage before your appointment.
Do I need a doctor's referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. Chiropodists are primary care professionals practicing in podiatric medicine, so you can book directly with us to be assessed and treated. That said, some insurance plans may require a physician's referral for reimbursement, so it's worth checking with your provider.
What types of foot conditions do you treat?
Our chiropodists treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, bunions, hammer toes, ingrown toenails, corns and calluses, warts, nail fungus, heel pain, metatarsalgia, Morton's neuroma, flat feet, and diabetic foot complications. We also provide pediatric care and custom foot orthotics for all ages and activity levels.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
During your initial consultation, our chiropodist will take time to listen to your concerns, assess your feet and ankles, and answer your questions. Based on your assessment, we develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals, and discuss the next steps for your care.
How are your custom foot orthotics made?
We specialize in crafting custom foot orthotics designed to support your unique foot structure, providing lasting comfort and support. Our chiropodists assess your gait and foot mechanics—using methods such as plaster casting—to create orthotics tailored precisely to your needs and activity level.
