About The Recovery Room Chiropractic and Wellness

The Recovery Room Chiropractic and Wellness is a Burlington-based clinic dedicated to helping active adults, aging individuals, athletes, and the local pickleball community recover from injury, prevent future problems, and perform at their best. Founded by Dr. Phil Wessel, the clinic was built on the belief that too many musculoskeletal injuries are treated without addressing their underlying causes, leading to recurring pain. That's why the team focuses on effective, evidence-informed care designed to get patients back to the activities they love. Services include chiropractic care, shockwave therapy, custom orthotics, and massage therapy (coming soon), with particular expertise in treating tendon-related conditions such as Achilles tendonitis, tennis and golfer's elbow, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injuries, and jumper's knee. The clinic also treats back, neck and spine pain, sciatica, sports injuries, muscle strains, and ankle sprains. Conveniently located at 5041 Fairview St in Burlington, The Recovery Room proudly serves Burlington, Oakville, and surrounding communities, combining manual therapy, rehabilitation exercise, and a personalized recovery plan to help every patient stay in the game.

Many Ontario chiropractic and wellness clinics offer direct billing to major insurance providers where available. We recommend contacting The Recovery Room directly at 289-993-3663 or info@recoveryroomchiro.com to confirm your specific coverage and billing options before your visit.

Do I need a doctor's referral to book an appointment?

No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see a chiropractor in Ontario. You can book directly through our online booking system. However, some extended health insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so it's worth checking with your provider.

What types of injuries and conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of conditions including back, neck and spine pain, sciatica, sports injuries, muscle strains and tears, jumper's knee (patellar tendonitis), rotator cuff injuries, golfer's and tennis elbow, bursitis, knee injuries, ankle sprains, repetitive strain injuries, Achilles tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis. We have a particular focus on tendon-related conditions and the pickleball community.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit begins with a conversation where you share your story and let us know how we can help. We then perform a thorough examination to determine the cause of your complaints, and together we create a personalized treatment plan designed to help you achieve your recovery goals.

How does shockwave therapy work and what is it used for?

Shockwave therapy is an effective treatment for both acute and chronic pain. At The Recovery Room, it is commonly used to treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, rotator cuff injuries, and other tendon-related issues, helping to stimulate healing and reduce pain.
